Future Forward Learning
In 2019, we began working with the Stanford Center for Assessment Learning and Equity to define what it means to be a creative, self-directed leader. After doing a deep dive in these areas, we developed a program to help students build these important skills. We began implementing this program with our students at Design Tech @ Oracle, with great success. To this day, our work with Stanford serves as the foundation of our innovation program, which is now available to students anywhere in the world.
Keep scrolling through this website and you’ll find lots of amazing outcomes from our program. Our students report learning a host of specific skills and mindsets that are essential to their current and future success. These include technical skills like design, finance and data analysis; durable skills like creativity, empathy, and persistence; and mindsets like adaptability, taking feedback, and flexibility. Put all of these together and you have the makings of a creative, self-directed leader. We know that building self-direction, creativity and leadership is not easy and actually can be pretty frustrating but wow, when you do it, you open up limitless opportunities for yourself.
How it works
Product Offering:
The Innovation Diploma Program is a program offered to school sites with four key elements:
Foundations of Design & Design for Impact curriculum
Professional Development and Coaching
Assessment of student work
A credential that certifies that students have developed creativity, leadership, and problem-solving skills
What the school receives:
Design Thinking Workshop for school staff (in-person)
On-Going Instructional Coaching via Zoom for instructional team
Curriculum Provided by Design Tech team
Joint Design Review Evaluations by partner school staff and Design Tech staff.

The Teacher Experience
We believe that you can’t teach how to be something that you aren’t feeling yourself. So if you want to teach creativity, you need to feel creative yourself.
So the first step is to enroll in our educator innovation certificate program, where you will become a designer, fill up your creative bucket, and prepare to share the joy of creation with your students. So in 10 manageable steps here is the teacher experience:
Enroll in the online educator innovation certificate program
Complete the online educator innovation certificate program
Start teaching foundations of design thinking to your students (don’t worry, we provide the curriculum)
Receive coaching from Design Tech staff members
Keep teaching the foundations of design thinking to your students
Evaluate your student’s work with a Design Tech staff member by your side (virtually)
Celebrate your journey
Start teaching the Designer Studio class (we will still provide curriculum and coaching)
Prepare your students for their Innovation Diploma defense
Celebrate your students with other Innovation Diploma Students at the Innovation Showcase at the Oracle campus in Redwood Shores in the spring
